Eliezer Menashe honored by Israel’s prime minister and president at ceremony
He made aliyah in 2010 from India at the age of 16. This week, Eliezer Menashe, now 22, was invited to Beit Hanasi – the home of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin – to receive the President’s Medal of Excellence for his service in the IDF’s Golani 13 combat unit.
When Eliezer is not in the army, he lives in Ofra with his mother and three other Bnei Menashe brothers who immigrated to Israel from India. Eliezer’s oldest brother, Yehoshua, was the first in the family to arrive, in 2000. He served as a “lone soldier” in the IDF then.
In the picture above, Eliezer is posing with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara.
