Jerusalem: Hundreds of Kilogrammes of 'matzah' (unleavened bread) and copies of 'Hagaddah' --text recounting the Jewish people's Exodus from Egypt-- with explanatory notes in the Mizo and Thadou-Kuki languages have been despatched to India for the Bnei Menashe community to celebrate Passover.
For the first time, members of a Lost Tribe of Israel in northeastern India will soon be able to study the entire Torah in their native tongue.  Shavei Israel, a Jerusalem-based group which assists "lost Jews" seeking to return to the Jewish people, last week published a translation of Sefer Shemot (the Book of Exodus) into Mizo, one of the main languages spoken by the Bnei Menashe living in Mizoram, India.

The National Post of Canada Source: CanWest News Service             KIRYAT ARBA, West Bank - When a rabbinical court decided that the Bnei Menashe of India were descendants of one of the 10 "lost tribes" of Israel, Indian newspapers reported many in the northern community wept tears of joy.
A community center intended specifically for Bnei Menashe immigrants has been formally inaugurated in Kiryat Arba. The center is the first of it's kind in Israel.   Offering an array of classes, lectures and other activities for the Bnei Menashe community, the community center is a joint project of the Kiryat Arba Local Council and Shavei Israel (www.shavei.org), a Jerusalem-based group that assists “lost Jews” seeking to return to the Jewish people.

The Jerusalem Post "The redemption of Bnei Menashe is just a part of the larger process of the redemption of the entire Jewish people," Rabbi Yehuda Gin of Kiryat Arba said Tuesday.   Gin, probably the first Bnei Menashe to become a rabbi, was reacting to Sephardi Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar's decision on Friday to allow the mass conversion, according to Orthodox Jewish criteria, of a group of 6,000 to 7,000 Indians who are thought to be the descendants of the lost tribe of Menashe.
