Bnei Menashe Advisory Committee hold its first meeting in Jerusalem
Today, Bnei Menashe community leaders gathered in Shavei Israel’s Jerusalem offices for a special inaugural meeting of the Bnei Menashe Advisory Committee. The committee united more than a dozen men and women from different Bnei Menashe communities all over Israel and was established to exchange information and facilitate absorption and integration of the Bnei Menashe. The committee is also a testament to the numerous members of the Bnei Menashe community who have integrated beautifully into Israeli culture and society, and are prepared to help newer immigrants from their community.
Among the participants of the event were Michael Freund, Shavei’s Chairman and Founder, Tzvi Khaute, Shavei’s Bnei Menashe coordinator, Yitzchak Kolney, Shlomo Haokip and other members of Shavei Israel’s staff. The committee is to have monthly meetings in order to discuss the most important issues in their community’s life and exchange experiences to improve the quality of life of the new immigrants from India.
