Bnei Menashe youngsters prepare their lulavs and etrogs for the holiday

Let’s return to India, where Bnei Menashe youngsters tackle one of the other main mitzvot of the holiday – gathering together the lulav (palm fronds) and etrog (citron) which are used during the holiday of Sukkot both in the synagogue and in the sukka.

When you have a community as large as the Bnei Menashe (still 7,000 in India waiting to make aliyah), you need a lot of etrogs, as you can see in these pictures sent to us from Manipur:
