Laura Ben-David returns to the U.S. for new speaking tour

Laura Ben-David returns to the U.S. for new speaking tour

Shavei Israel Chairman Michael Freund is not the only staff member to be traveling overseas to talk all things Shavei in December.

While Michael is heading to the U.K. to speak at Limmud U.K., Shavei Israel’s director of marketing Laura Ben-David is heading even further west – all the way over the Atlantic to the U.S., where she will embark on a whirlwind speaking tour on the topic “One Nation Many Faces.”

Laura’s itinerary will take her to St. Louis, Missouri; Canton, Akron & Youngstown, Ohio; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Detroit, Michigan; and Wilmington, Delaware.

Laura’s talks will focus on three communities that Shavei Israel helps: the Bnei Menashe in India, the “Hidden” Jews of Poland, and Bnei Anousim in Spain, Portugal and South America.

Laura also spoke in the U.S. last year. Describing her visit to the Bnei Menashe in India, she told a group in Philadelphia, “I got to India and I was blown away. We thought they had disappeared, and they thought we had disappeared.” But they hadn’t, and now their most fervent desire is to make aliyah.

“To them, it’s very simple,” Laura said. “You’re supposed to live in Israel, so you live in Israel.”

You can read more about Laura’s 2015 speaking tour on The Jewish Exponent and San Diego Jewish World websites. Our full report on Laura’s talks are here.

This year, get ready for some special surprises.

At Laura’s upcoming talk at the St. Louis Jewish Community Center, an “Indian-style dinner” is promised, included in the presentation’s $10 entrance fee.

What’s an “Indian-style dinner?” You’ll have to be in St. Louis on December 4 to find out…

If you’ll be in one of Laura’s 2016 whistle stops locations, please be in touch with us and we’ll give you the scoop on where and when the events will be happening.

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the important work Shavei Israel is doing, to ask questions, and most of all, to enjoy an evening of inspiration about the future of the Jewish world.
