Eliezer Haokip and his family are waiting to make aliyah

In the next in our series on “Bnei Menashe – in their own words,” we meet Eliezer Haokip, who is praying to make aliyah this summer. Eliezer needs your help. You can sponsor him and his Bnei Menashe family for just $4,000 per immigrant.

This covers transportation from India plus the costs of sustaining each new immigrant in our absorption center, including room and board, Hebrew ulpan and more. Read on and we’ll tell you how.

By profession I am a teacher in a junior high school in our village. I am married to Yafa Haokip and we have two children.

Since we began keeping the mitzvot in 1993, my foremost dream has been to step into the Holy Land. As our Sages taught us, the land of Israel and the Torah is one; without one another, neither can survive.

When I was a child, I learned that returning to the land is equal to all of the 613 commandments in the Torah. As I keep these mitzvot in my heart, my love for Eretz Israel stays forever in mind.

In 2003, my beloved father, Eliyahu Haokip, passed away. This only encouraged us more to be good Jews at all costs and to fulfill his dream of returning to the Holy Land. Since then, together with my widowed mother, I began to support my family both physically and spiritually until today. With G-d’s blessing, through Shavei Israel, my family and I will return to the Holy Land this summer!

May G-d bless and guide Shavei Israel in the days to come.

Please help us fulfill the dream of my father and of my entire family by helping Shavei Israel bring us home to Jerusalem. You can make a donation by visiting this link.
