Shavei Israel moves to new location
After ten years in the Heichal Shlomo building adjacent to Jerusalem’s Great Synagogue, Shavei Israel has moved to new, more spacious offices. The change in location has been a long time in coming: Shavei Israel’s increasing activities in Israel and abroad, along with the growing number of communities the organization supports, have meant that the original offices were in dire need of an upgrade.
Shavei Israel’s Jerusalem office is now at 3 Am V’Olamo Street in the Givat Shaul business district. In addition to providing more space for staff and meetings, Shavei Israel’s Machon Miriam Spanish and Portuguese-language Institute for Conversion and Return has moved as well. Machon Miriam is now closer to where many of its students live and to several key yeshivot, such as Machon Meir, which is walking distance.
While Shavei Israel no longer has the “cache” of being able to call the Great Synagogue its neighbor, the new location is more convenient for visitors from out of town, located just a few minutes from the entrance to Jerusalem. There are also a number of parking lots nearby, as well as on-street parking, something that was sorely lacking at Heichal Shlomo.
If you’ll be in Jerusalem, we’d be delighted to show you around our new space. Please drop us a line.
