Making aliyah: Meet Hanoch Ben-Hoshea (Haokip) and his family

Hanoch Ben-Hoshea (Haokip) and his family in Imphal

My name is Hanoch Ben-Hoshea (Haokip), aged 26. I am married to Miriam Vaiphei and live in Imphal, capital of the Indian state of Manipur, where I belong to the Beit El Jewish Community. I presently serve as one of its Executive Members for the term of 2012-2013.

In 2008, I finished an eight-month course from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Mumbai. I am currently employed as a Ground Staff Instructor for the Saint Flight Institution in Imphal.

I participated in the Shavei Israel-organized Leadership Seminary held in Nepal in 2008 and, ever since then, I have actively participated in all activities sponsored by Shavei Israel.

I have two daughters: 2-year-old Lilian and her sister, 3-year-old Nehora. Lilian has just started her schooling. It is my hope that my children will be able to continue their education in Israel among Jewish peers, and will, be’ezrat Hashem (with G-d’s help), marry Jews in the Land of Israel.

G-d willing, when I make aliyah I would like to continue my career in the international air transport field while Miriam would be busy fulfilling her dream of building a warm Jewish home to bring up our children in Eretz Israel.
