New and renovated synaogogues in Manipur
Shavei Israel is currently helping to support the building and renovation of two Bnei Menashe synagogues in the Indian state of Manipur. In the village of Patlen, the Bnei Menashe community is building its first ever synagogue. In the town of Churachandpur, Beit Shalom – the main Bnei Menashe synagogue – is undergoing much needed renovation and expansion. Beit Shalom is part of the compound where the Shavei Israel Hebrew Center is also located.
These two projects are expensive, even more so for the Bnei Menashe in India, where earning potential is far lower than in the west. The new synagogue in Patlen will cost approximately $3,500, while the renovation in Churachandpur will run more than $14,000. Your financial assistance will go a long way towards providing the Bnei Menashe with new and more comfortable spaces to pray, study, and strengthen their faith. Please visit our Support page to help.
