Shavei Israel sending books to Palma de Mallorca for six Chuetas hoping to formally return to Judaism soon
The English version of Hayim Donin's book, now translated into Spanish
Following Shavei Israel’s seminar for Bnei Anousim and Chuetas in Palma de Mallorca in November, we are now sending books on Jewish learning to six members of the community who showed particular interest in making a speedy return to the Jewish people.
The key text being shipped to Spain, “El Ser Judio” (“To Be a Jew”) by Rabbi Hayim Halevi Donin, is a primer coveringall the basics of Judaism: how to keep kosher, Shabbat, the festivals, faith and more. Rabbi Donin’s book has been translated into many languages, including Spanish.
Shavei Israel is also setting up a new Spanish-language website exclusively for Bnei Anousim. To be called “Beit Ha’anusim,” the site will have information on returning to Judaism; Shavei Israel’s activities with the Bnei Anousim in Israel and around the world; online and recorded and classes; a forum for questions and answers; a regular newsletter; plus links to Shavei Israel’s Spanish-language Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The new site is expected to launch at the beginning of 2012.
