PICTURES: Bnei Menashe immigrants enjoying their homeland
We haven’t checked in for a while with the Bnei Menashe who Shavei Israel helped made aliyah in the last year, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t been busy. Here are a few photos of Bnei Menashe activities in Israel over the past few months.
First of all, when it comes to photos, there’s nothing like a wedding and we have one gorgeous bride and groom to share with you. The bride, Avigail Namate worked with the Bnei Menashe as part of her National Service following graduation from high school. Her new husband, David Phanai, is currently completing his IDF service. Mazel tov!
There were also several tours for recent Bnei Menashe immigrants, including a visit to the Hula Valley…
…and a “road safety” course where the young generation got a chance to learn about how to ride a bike and cross the street safely and according to the law.
Some of the most recent Bnei Menashe immigrants celebrated their first Tu B’Shevat in Israel. We have a selection of photos of the group celebrating the New Year for the Trees in Tiberias.
Speaking of Tu B’Shevat, the Beit Israel community of Bnei Anousim in El Salvador celebrated the holiday as well. Here are a few photos from the traditional Tu B’Shevat “Seder” where, similar to Pesach, the day is marked by a ceremony featuring foods and their blessings.
