Bnei Menashe – in their own words: Makhir Thouthang, Saikul, Manipur

Makhir Thouthang and family – on their way to Israel
From early childhood, my beloved mother Milka always taught me the stories of the Bible, while my beloved father Efraim taught me that we are Menashe one of the Lost Tribes of Israel. Whenever there was an earthquake, our forefather would cry out, “We the children of Menashe are safe and sound.” While our forefathers were exiled from the Land of Israel by the Assyrian Empire more than two thousand years ago, we never forgot who we are and where we belong.
With G-d’s divine assistance, my family and I started to practice Judaism wholeheartedly, keeping the mitzvot, in 1997 and, ever since then, we have been yearning to make aliyah. I am filled with joy that we will soon to be able to move to land of our forefathers. Upon reaching the Holy Land, I would love to join Israel Defense Force to safeguard and protect the only Jewish state in the world.
I would like to thank G-d for His blessings and Shavei Israel for making the dreams of my family come true. May our Almighty G-d continue to guide and bless Shavei Israel in the coming days.
Please help me fulfill the dream my parents instilled in me – and allow me to protect my people through service in the IDF – by helping Shavei Israel bring us home to Jerusalem. You can make a donation by visiting this link.
