Last chance to donate in 2012 to support the Bnei Menashe aliyah

This past week has been one of the most exciting in the history of Shavei Israel, with the momentous resumption of the Bnei Menashe aliyah from India. Fifty-three Bnei Menashe from the northeastern Indian state of Manipur landed at Ben Gurion Airport on Monday, December 24 – the first of 274 Bnei Menashe who received approval to immigrate in the coming month following a government decision to rescind a ban on their aliyah that had been in place for some five years.
From the extensive preparation they undergo in India, to their smooth integration upon arrival in Israel, Shavei Israel has traveled with these brave and eager men, women and children every step of the way. And this is only the beginning. Our goal is to bring every one of the more than 7,000 Bnei Menashe remaining in India to Israel in the coming years, to reunite with their immediate families who are already here and, moreover, with the Jewish people.
But we are coming to the close of at least one chapter: the tax year 2012. Indeed, this is your last chance to help support the Bnei Menashe and receive a tax credit for 2012. Shavei Israel is an IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization. Please consider donating by visiting the Support page on our website. You can make your donation online or contact us directly by phone or email.
