New Beit Midrash in El Salvador opens
El Salvador’s Bnei Anousim community has opened a new beit midrash, offering options for study and prayer in two daily sessions. The study hall is located in the Beit Israel synagogue in the capital city of San Salvador.
Participants in the morning session are studying the fundamentals of prayer for two hours. The afternoon session, which is the larger of the two, studies Jewish Law and the Torah portion of the week. They also have the opportunity to pray the afternoon (mincha) and evening (aravit) services.
The daily sessions are for men only. On Wednesday nights, there is a general study hall that is open to women as well.
The beit midrash is called Ben Porat Yosef, like the well-known Sepharadi yeshiva in Israel.
Here’s a short video of the beit midrash in action.
