Last weekend, Shavei Israel organized an extraordinary Shabbaton for the Hidden Jews of Poland in the town of Oscwiecim, adjacent to the Auschwitz death camp. The seminar, which was attended by close to 50 local Jews, also included several members of the press who flew in from Israel. Here is a link to a comprehensive article in The Times of Israel. Of the hundreds of pictures that were taken during the seminar (not on Shabbat of course), we’ve put together a selection of the best. You can find them here. The photos include study sessions, prayers at the Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot synagogue (the only one still functioning in Oscwiecim), a festive melave malke with singing and dancing at the conclusion of Shabbat, and a visit by the group to Auschwitz itself.
