Shabbat in Czestochowa, Poland

Shabbat in Czestochowa, Poland

There is no official Jewish community in Czestochowa, Poland. Therefore, our envoy in Poland, Rabbi Yehoshua Ellis, decided to organize a Shabbat program in the village in cooperation with the Jewish cultural organization TSKZ. Twenty-five people attended Kabbalat Shabbat services and 15 came to Seudah Shlishit (the third meal on Shabbat) and the closing Havdolah ceremony. As a result of the success of this Shabbat, Rabbi Ellis decided to establish a Hebrew course for the Jews of the area, to take place starting in early December. It is important to note that one of the organizers of the event from Sstokova, is a graduate of our most recent summer seminar in Israel, Krzysztof Fidrizk (second from left in the picture).
